This session presents study results on workplace writing accuracy from EAL employees’ perspectives. Qualitative interviews conducted with nine EAL employees in Canada indicate the participants valued writing accuracy and clarity but were not well prepared at university. They suggested universities offer more writing-related courses and services and incorporate real-life scenarios.

Dr. Jim Hu is an Associate Professor of English language learning and teaching at Thompson Rivers University. His research interests include academic writing, plagiarism prevention, and artificial intelligence.
